It seems that the long hours of filming are taking its toll on Sex and the City stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon just weeks into filming.

The usually immaculate foursome were pictured looking far from glamorous as they arrived on set yesterday.

Sarah Jessica, dressed in jeans, a beige scarf and grey leather jacket, hid behind dark sunglasses as she emerged from a trailer during a coffee break with co-star Kristin who opted for a drab all-black outfit.

Meanwhile Kim Cattrall, who donned a grey jacket and cream trousers with matching gladiator sandals, looked tired and emotional as she prepared to begin filming for the day.

The women were recently pictured filming an Eighties flashback scene for the upcoming film and Kim has said that they were thrilled to step back in time momentarily.

It was so much fun to relive the wild and crazy fashions of the ’80s. I absolutely loved the four different looks of all of us.

‘We were all so uniquely different that we all couldn’t stop admiring our different looks. There was lots of laughing, and it was a blast!’

While producers are doing their best to keep plot details for SATC 2 under wraps, some details are already starting to emerge.

It is widely reported that Carrie’s marriage to Mr Big, played by Chris Noth, will run into trouble.

The mogul is expected to suffer financial problems as a result of the economic crisis and is forced to move aboard.

‘Their marriage is going to face lots of challenges,’ an insider has revealed. ‘Big will be tempted by a younger colleague.’

High-flying PR executive Samantha is also expected to be hit by the effects of the recession.

‘The proposed story line for Samantha will be her having to downsize her big-spending life after some of her investments get wiped out,’ the insider reveals.

‘You will see her having to survive on a more modest budget but still staying true to her fabulous taste.’

She is also rumoured to face another cancer battle while Miranda is said to quit her job in law to open a restaurant.

And, according to reports, Charlotte suspects Harry of cheating causing her to move out of the apartment.

Sex and the City 2 is scheduled to be released May 2010.

Cattrall is filming the sequel to the wildly popular romantic comedy.

Last summer’s big-screen adaptation of HBO’s series reigned at the box office, bringing in $57 million in its opening weekend.

AMERICAN actress, Katie Holmes, is set to star in the next Sex and the City movie, said media reports on Monday.

The wife of Hollywood star, Tom Cruise, has reportedly been approached to take on the role of a feisty New York businesswoman who infuriates Kim Cattrall’s man-eating character Samantha Jones in the forthcoming sequel.

“The character they want her to play is a really ballsy, high-powered company executive who tangles with Samantha,” a source told entertainment website Bang Showbiz.

Movie bosses are currently working on the follow-up to the 2008 hit Sex and the City: The Movie – which was based on the long-running TV series about four female friends and their chaotic love lives.

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick just welcomed twin daughters on Monday. The twins, Marion Loretta Elwell (5lbs.) and Tabitha Hodge (6 lbs.), were born at 3:58 pm in Ohio via a surrogate.

“The babies are doing beautifully,” Parker’s publicist said in a statement to TVGuide.com. “The entire family is over the moon.”

“Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side,” the statement added.

Parker and Broderick confirmed they were expecting twin daughters by a surrogate mother in April after they struggled to conceive naturally. Earlier this year, the said surrogate mother also became the target of media frenzy when two Ohio police officers allegedly burglarized the surrogate mother’s home so they could sell photos and other information to a tabloid.

“We didn’t expect it. I think after a certain amount of time, you tend to hold your hopes at bay a bit so as not to be disappointed,” the Sex and the City actress said back then. “One really would have been thrilling and we would’ve felt incredibly lucky. And two was a comedy!

Parker catapulted to fame as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City, for which she won four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy Awards. She played the same role in the feature film version of the show, which was released on May 30, 2008. Broderick, on the other hand, became popular for his roles in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Godzilla and WarGames.

The couple married on May 19, 1997 and has a son, James Wilkie Broderick, born on October 28, 2002.

“James is really excited. He’s very much ready to be an older brother,” Parker said. “I think it gives him a great sense of pride. It’s wonderful and I just hope for their safe arrival.”

Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon is set to tie the knot with partner Christine Marinoni.

The actress was seen showing off an engagement ring at an Action = Marriage Equality rally in New York, where gay weddings are not yet legal.

Cynthia – who plays Miranda in the ‘Sex And The City‘ franchise – started dating education activist Christine in January 2004.

Prior to that, the 43-year-old was in a 15-year relationship with English professor Danny Mozes. The pair have two children.

To fill gaps caused by injuries, ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” has turned to two reality favorites.

“Bachelor” alumna Melissa Rycroft and Holly Madison of “The Girls Next Door” each had less than a week to prepare for the ballroom contest.

Madison acknowledged that she was winging it when she stepped on the dance floor Monday night for the “Dancing” season premiere.” She had five days to prepare. But judge Bruno Tonioli told Madison, “There is hope. Keep working.”

Rycroft had just two days to practice and was the last celebrity to take the dance floor. She looked terrific, and the judges were mostly complimentary. Think about the week this young woman has had — being rejected on “The Bachelor” last week, coming back this week on ABC’s most popular series. The woman has poise.

The two women replaced singer Jewel and “Access Hollywood” host Nancy O’Dell, who had to bow out because of injuries in training. But the “Dancing” producers and ABC seem to have done another inspired job of casting.

The night’s revelation was actor Gilles Marini, who was the naked neighbor in the “Sex and the City” movie. Marini (pictured) and proud partner Cheryl Burke delivered a scorching cha cha cha that won judges’ raves.

The judges also praised the waltz from gymnast Shawn Johnson and partner Mark Ballas. Shawn, who is only 17, came through with a disciplined, elegant performance. Is it any wonder she’s considered the front-runner? “Fantastic,” Len Goodman said. But Shawn said her gymnastic skill was no advantage on the dance floor.

The night’s most memorable line came from “Jackass” star Steve-0: “I want to put my foot in the waltz’s butt.” Anyone who thought he’d be terrible or silly was in for a surprise. He really tried — waltzing to the “Godfather” theme — and blossomed with help from understanding partner Lacey Schwimmer.

Steve Wozniak was game and charming on his cha cha cha, but the results were disastrous. Denise Richards was awkward on her cha cha cha — she looked utterly frightened. Rodeo star Ty Murray was lost on his dance.  Football great Lawrence Taylor smiled through obvious nerves. Belinda Carlisle looked wonderful but lacked fluidity and fretted about throwing up. Thank goodness, she didn’t hurl.

More potential was evident from comedian David Alan Grier, whose expressions often upstaged his dance moves, and rapper Lil’ Kim, who knows how to shake it. Real-life couple Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough were adorable and could go far.
